Ramadan Fundraising Campaign 2025: A Collective Triumph of Heart and Hustle
by Rushdina Sofea
110 percent.
That’s not just a number.
It’s a reflection of effort, faith, and togetherness.
This Ramadan, Small Changes set out with one big intention in mind: to raise RM5,000 to support our programmes and operations. In just a month, we did not just hit that goal. We went beyond it.
We reached 110 percent. And behind every single ringgit was a story. A supporter. A team of volunteers who gave everything they had, not because they had to, but because they truly believed in the cause.
We spoke to the people who brought this campaign to life, the Finance Team and our beloved Content Producers, to understand what it really took to make this Ramadan more than just a fundraising effort, but a movement that united hearts.
It Started With Purpose
For Athirah Suzani, our Vice President of Finance and Treasury, this campaign was never just about numbers on a screen. It was about people. It was about impact. It was about holding onto what Ramadan truly means: togetherness, generosity, and compassion.
“We’re here for a simple but powerful mission — to fund Small Changes’ projects and operations, increase the outreach of our initiatives to the community at large, and bring our Malaysian community closer together in the spirit of Ramadan and Eid Mubarak,” she said.
From the very beginning, every plan, every post, and every message came from a place of sincerity. It was never just a campaign. It was an invitation for everyone to be part of something bigger than themselves.
Creativity Was Our Superpower
Rif Daris, our Strategic Financial Outreach Controller, knew that to truly connect with people, we had to meet them where they were. We had to speak their language, tell our story in a way that was relatable, emotional, and real.
“When I plan for RFC in the early phase, I believe that engagement can be fruitful when high-quality and fun content is put out for our supporters to enjoy and promote the progress of our campaign,” he shared.
From the touching Rahsia Tuhan reflections to the lively Sahur Challenge, every piece of content carried its own heartbeat. And behind that heartbeat was a team of creative souls who poured hours of thought, energy, and love into their craft.
Rif did not forget to acknowledge the power of the community, too.
“Couldn’t have done it as well if it weren’t for the rest of our Small Changes members. The effort for them to approach their relatives and friends to donate to RFC is absolutely priceless to me. This is living proof that when we have each other (all 69 members), we can reach beyond the stars, over the RM5,000 target.”
When the Momentum Slowed, The Team Refused to Quit
The journey was not all smooth. There were moments that tested the team’s spirit.
During the first two weeks of Ramadan, donations slowed down. It would have been easy to feel disheartened. But the Finance Team chose to push harder instead of pulling back.
“That’s when we had to play the volume game,” Rif said. “We kept updating all members on the total donation amount and encouraged them to spread our promotional materials.”
The Creatives & Strategic Planning (CSP) team also hustled behind the scenes. They reached out to influencers like Qi Razali and Imanopie, creating a wave of fresh attention for the cause. Slowly but surely, the numbers started climbing again.
It was a true example of resilience. When the spark dimmed, the team refused to let it go out. They fanned it until it grew into a fire.
The People Behind the Posts

The magic that kept people engaged throughout the month came from our three young, passionate content producers: Sarah Fazis, Mastura Anuar, and Aimannur Syahirah.
They mapped out a content calendar before Ramadan even started. They brainstormed ideas over 7 AM Google Meets after sahur. They borrowed trends from TikTok. They filmed, edited, and re-edited videos under tight deadlines, often sacrificing their own rest.
“We had a meeting before Ramadan where we mapped out when to post and what tone each content would serve,” Aimannur shared. “Sometimes, you just gotta have fun! Your audience enjoys fun content, and you can’t overthink it. Just trust your instinct.”
There were plenty of memorable moments along the way. During one filming session for This or That: Ramadan Edition, the team had to hop from TRX to Bukit Bintang, and finally to Jalan TAR just to find the right crowd.
“It was already so hot, and we were hungry and tired. But most people were kind and cooperative,” Mastura said, reminiscing about the moment she was lightly hit by a mascot while trying to film.
Sarah reflected on her own experience. “It was exciting because it was my first time, as an SC content producer, creating content that engaged directly with people during Ramadan,” she said. “Mostly, we received positive feedback from SC members, and it motivated us to keep improving.”
They were more than just content creators. They were storytellers. Carriers of the Small Changes spirit, capturing the laughter, the generosity, and the realness of Ramadan.

The 110 Percent Moment
When the news came in that the target had been surpassed, emotions ran high.
“I wasn’t surprised because the effort and creativity the team put in were beyond the initial planning,” said Juwairiyah Rahim, one of our Fundraising Leads. “But I was excited and very happy. It truly takes a whole village to move the cause.”
Every repost mattered. Every small reminder to donate mattered. Every second spent editing, planning, and sharing mattered. No effort was wasted.
The funds raised will not sit still. They will be used to expand our reach, scale our camp-based projects, and launch new initiatives like mentorship workshops and educational programmes. With this added boost, we can also respond more swiftly to urgent needs in the communities we serve.
In Juwairiyah’s words, “These surplus funds won’t sit idle. They’ll fuel our next wave of impact, ensuring even more beneficiaries gain the support and resources they need.”
110 percent was not just a milestone. It was a promise of more lives touched, more futures changed, more hope delivered.
More Giving, More Growing
Even though the RFC is officially over, the work continues.
The Finance Team is currently supporting Project Ngembak Blaja, which will continue accepting donations until the end of May. Beyond that, they are working towards something even bigger: a community-wide charity run that will not just raise funds but bring people together in a powerful, meaningful way.
And the CoPro team? They are already back to the drawing board. New ideas. New energy. Same heart.
Their work has only just begun.

To every single person who contributed. Whether you donated, reposted, filmed, edited, wrote, planned, or even stayed up late after sahur to brainstorm.
Thank you.
You did not just help us raise funds. You helped us raise hope.
You showed us that even in moments of fatigue, uncertainty, or slowdown, the spirit of community can carry us forward.
You reminded us, once again, that small changes truly can create a big impact.
And for that, we are endlessly grateful.
