Here’s everything you need to know about Seeds of Deeds!
Small Changes is back with another volunteer recruitment, and this time it’s for Seeds of Deeds! Seeds of Deeds is an educational and youth empowerment camp with the objective to empower students in discovering their talents and strengths in building their character to become holistic individuals. We are on the lookout for energetic and passionate volunteers to help us on our mission to improve students’ lives with exciting modules! For this year, Seeds of Deeds 2022 will be carried out physically, yeah! But, that’s not the only difference for this year’s camp. Let’s see what the people in charge of this year’s Seeds of Deeds have to say on how this year’s camp would differ and what YOU as volunteers would be working on.
Sasithra and Shafiqa are the Project Directors of Seeds of Deeds 2022. They oversee the flow of the programme, creating modules and final decisions of the camp. SOD, as defined by them, is a camp that is organised annually with the hope to unleash the potential of the beneficiaries, who are secondary school students, and lead them to believe in themselves to achieve great things in life. Seeds of Deeds 2022 will be having 2 camps physically by having onboard beneficiaries from Selangor and Pahang!

For those who are volunteering for the first time, don’t worry! We are more than happy to be the starting point for your volunteering journey. All volunteers will be guided by module directors, in return we wish all volunteers contribute your time and commitment through the program. You will be able to transfer knowledge to the beneficiaries as you will be given the chance to develop the modules yourself. The modules will be used in teaching the beneficiaries during the commencement of the camp.
What are some of the perks of volunteering with SOD?
You’ll get to work closely in developing modules and transfer the knowledge to the beneficiaries. This way you’ll be able to grow professionally and enhance your communication and presentation skills. Besides, you’ll gain insightful feedback from the module directors and project directors from which you’ll learn from your mistakes and be better at what you’re doing.
“Small acts, when multiplied by millions of people, can transform the world. Be the change you want to see in this world. We rise by lifting others. Not all volunteers have the time, but they have the heart to help those who’re in need”
Does the volunteers’ work make a difference in the beneficiaries life?
Absolutely! The modules that will be developed by volunteers will be taught by them to beneficiaires during the commencement of the camp. This way the beneficiaries will be able to gain useful insights during the camp which then will be useful for them in their lives. Sasithra herself started her first volunteering journey as a facilitator in SOD camp, and it awarded her a priceless memory because she realised, we don’t need to be rich to be able to lift someone up, we just need the heart and commitment to do so. She believes that every volunteer would make a difference in the beneficiaries lives, provided that they give their full commitment and enthusiasm to this camp
We are looking for passionate volunteers who are willing to commit their weekends to develop the modules to be taught to beneficiaries during the camps. It is important that they give their full commitment through the facilitator training session and also during the camp to ensure a smooth flow of the project.
